System Requirements |
|
The ActiveQuality System is a Client/Server based application served
by a Microsoft SQL 7.0 or 2000 Server for data storage. The
detail below is intended as a general guide to selection and
configuration of the client and server hardware and software
requirements. |

Technical Considerations |
|
The system is administered easily using the Setup Module,
Security Module and Administrative Task Module. |
|

|
Server Installation Requirements |
|
ActiveQuality uses the Microsoft SQL 7 / 2000 Server as the
database. The current version for Windows NT/2000/XP. It is
installed onto the server prior to installing ActiveQuality. |

Server Software Installation Requirements |

Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP Server |
|
Supported Versions : Microsoft are currently providing
Service Pack 6a (SP6a) for Windows NT. Your server should be
patched to Service Pack 5 (SP5) at least. Windows 2000
Server users should patch to at least Service Pack 2 (SP2). |

Supported Protocols : TCP/IP - TCP/IP is essential for
LAN/WAN connection. |
|
|
|
Installation : Software is currently supplied on CD or
Electronically via FTP from our website. It is installed at
the server itself. Administrator Access is required for
this. Software will require approximately 50Mb of free disk
space. User databases must be held on the same server (not
necessarily the same partition), and will require 12Mb free
disk space per empty database. This will grow proportionally
to the amount of data added. Open Mind Support recommends
100-200Mb of free space available for each database. |

Hardware (minimum): PC Pentium PII 300Mhz as absolute
minimum. 128Mb RAM, 4.0Gb or similar HDD, Network Card,
Backup Device. |

Hardware (recommended): PC Pentium PIII 600MHz, 256Mb RAM,
20 Gb HDD, Network Card. Backup Device. Hard disk space
depends on database sizes. |

Note: The hardware specification is a guide. Obviously as a
general rule, a better specification machine used will
result in better performance. |

* Protocol Support : Clients using TCP/IP must have a
compliant Windows TCP/IP stack and WINSOCK support. Windows
98/NT/2000/XP can support multiple protocols. |
